Born and raised in Colorado, Matteson spent his childhood following the state edicts of skiing as often as possible and worshiping John Elway. After stints in Boston, Alaska, and New York City, Matteson recently moved to LA to be a screenwriter.
In addition to pursuing a career as a writer, Matteson performs stand up comedy. In New York he produced and hosted a popular show called New Young Comedians featuring the best of New York’s up and coming comics. As a performer he’s also active in the Story Telling community. He’s the only person to have won a Moth Storytelling GrandSlam in both Los Angeles and New York and is currently one of the hosts of the Moth StorySlam in Los Angeles.
